National Tree Week

Ever think it’s too late to find your dream career or learn THAT thing? Well today’s quote is for you!

Inspired by National Tree Week – which launches the start of the winter tree planting season – this Monday we’re getting motivated by our slow-growing friends.

Things Take Time to Grow

This seemingly simple observation is rather deceptive. Think about it: things that take a long time to create or grow, like your career, are always best started years ago.

From that concert pianist who started tinkling the ivories at 4 years old to novelist who wrote her first book at uni, it can sometimes feel like it’s too late to start.

But, the Only Time is Now

While it may have been ideal to have done an engineering degree instead of media studies or taken that step into working with kids read our blog on just that HERE when you first thought about it. The key is to start NOW.

Plant Seeds

Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ve missed your big break. Plus starting now doesn’t have to mean starting again. It just means planting seeds and giving your ideas and plans time and space to develop, establish roots and grow.

Bend Like Bruce Lee

As actor and martial art sensation Bruce Lee once said: “Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.”

In other words be strong but be flexible. Only by taking an agile, but stealthy, approach can you create the career you really want.

So, if you’ve got a career change you’ve been meaning to make, there’s no time like NOW.
